Every year we donate the money raised over Christmas, that would usually be spent on breakfast, to a local charity and last year our charity of choice was Wiltshire Mind, who provides a supportive, safe place for anyone struggling with their mental health.
On Friday 25th January, Carolyn Beale will be joining us on behalf of the charity to give us an overview on what the charity do and how they use funds raised to help vulnerable people. We are very much looking forward to presenting Carolyn with a cheque and we hope that it will go towards making a difference to people that need support with their mental health.
Christmas Party Night
On 8th December, our members and their guests enjoyed a night of festive celebrations at Bowood, with delicious food and wine, dancing and, of course, great company!
Working as a small business owner or sole trader can be lonely, but not if you’re part of BGG! Our members enjoy regular social events throughout the year, in addition to our Friday networking breakfasts, so there is no need to miss out on the social side of work.
A very Merry Christmas to our members, their families and team members.
Our member Kieran Thomas from Priority IT recently spent a week in London studying General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and has since been sharing his knowledge with the group, giving a presentation and Q&A session about the forthcoming changes.
His talk introduced us to the key principles of GDPR, the six legal bases for processing data and the rights individuals have, together with the actions we need to take as business owners. Members found this a helpful starting point in preparing for GDPR.
